Coaching That Unleashes Talent

What Is Evidence-based Coaching & Why Is It Important?

  • Evidence-based Coaching is a developmental process that focuses on an individual’s developmental needs within an organisation context that leads to positive change in behaviour and actions.
  • Evidence-based Coaching is a results oriented, collaborative and systematic process where the Coach facilitates the improvement of work performance, self-directed learning and personal and professional growth of the Coachee.
  • Outcomes are achieved through building a working relationship between the coach and client that is characterised by direct, personal and sometimes challenging conversations.
  • Evidence-based Coaches have a significant level of training and ongoing development that enables then to draw on research that includes positive psychology, counselling, and individual change to support Coachee development.
  • The use of evidence-based methodology provides a tested framework to scaffold a Coachee through purposeful change.

How is Coaching Delivered?

Commencing Coaching

  • Coaching can take place wherever two people can meet privately.
  • When coaching was emerging, it was usually conducted face to face to enable body language feedback.  Today’s ttechnology, such as  Zoom, Skype and MS Teams, allows people to be at different locations yet still have visual contact.
  • The coaching sessions can take place remotely using technology, at your workplace, or at convenient meeting place or booked meeting room off-site.
  • Coaching sessions generally run for 1 to 1 ½ hours, typically scheduled every two to three weeks depending on where the Coachee is in their journey.  At times it may be in the Coachee’s and their organisation’s interest to accelerate the coaching to weekly over the first four weeks.
  • Coaching can either be sponsored by an employer or initiated and funded by an individual seeking purposeful change
  • Where coaching is sponsored by an employer our coaching programs commence with a briefing between the Coach and the Coachee’s sponsor where the organisation’s goals for engaging a Coach are reviewed and to agree the coaching process that will be the best fit for the organisation's specific needs. The Coach confirms their understanding of the organisation’s goals in an assignment letter that forms the basis for the coaching engagement.
  • The Coachee should meet with their sponsor for a briefing on and input into the organisation’s expectations from coaching.  Once the briefings are completed the Coachee and Coach meet for the initial session.
