Making the “right” choice can be challenging.  The purpose of career coaching is to support you identify you career goals that will lead to you feeling satisfied each day and develop a pathway to achieve those goals.  People at all stages of life find career coaching to be essential support to making important decisions about the future direction of their working life which impacts their entire life.
I wish I had done this when I was starting out.  At least doing this mid-career leaves me time to capitalise on my future.
If you answer Yes to any of the following, then career coaching will be a great fit for you...
  • Are you bored at work or do you dislike your job?

Your Career Coaching program

Career coaching can be undertaken at multiple levels depending on your needs.  Our core program is structured around six structured coaching sessions supported by Harrison Career Assessment instruments to support the development and exploration of options.  You will have access to the Harrison Career Navigator to explore the fit of options.

The process begins with an initial interview, to review your career expectations, choices and career experiences to date, and completion of Harrison Career Assessment instruments.  This builds a profile of your strengths, needs, values, competencies, personality and drivers, and what gives you satisfaction and meaning at work.

With a sound understanding of your preferences, you work with the coach through a structured six session program using design thinking that supports the identification of a meaningful work-life direction that fits with interests, strengths and personality.  With the support of the coach, you analyse opportunities, both immediate and longer-term, and develop practical pathways to your goals.

The program concludes with the development of strategies that build your profile, identifies useful networks in both in and outside your organisation, and creates the framework for ongoing career crafting.

How Do We "Do" Career Coaching?

Set to Change offers coaching face to face, by telephone and digital platforms.  Digital coaching uses Zoom, MS Teams, Google Meet and Skype.  In all cases, meetings are locked once you and the coach are present to prevent uninvited entrants.  All platforms offer the ability to share documents and sketches in real-time.

Digital coaching offers clients the opportunity to be coached from when they feel comfortable, be it their office, home or even outdoors.  You and your coach may agree to “walking coaching” where the you are outside in a park sharing images of what surrounds us surrounds and discussing the impact of surrounds and the metaphors created.

Set to Change has found coaching using digital platforms to be equal to meeting in person and more effective than telephone coaching.  Conversations can be rich and meaningful, with the advantage of you being able to turn their camera off your camera if you need to take time out to reflect on an insight, something that cannot be achieved when coaching is in person.
